Role Description
As an Airfreight Specialist, you will be responsible for managing airfreight shipments end-to-end, ensuring smooth operations and customer satisfaction. Your expertise will be key in building strong relationships with airlines, agents, and clients while ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a new department where you can make a significant impact.
Responsibilities
• Shipment Management: Plan, coordinate, and monitor airfreight shipments from origin to destination.
• Documentation: Prepare and handle all relevant documents, including air waybills, customs clearance, and billing.
• Client Communication: Provide regular updates on shipment status and address any client inquiries promptly.
• Supplier Coordination: Negotiate competitive rates with airlines and manage supplier relationships.
• Compliance: Ensure all shipments comply with international shipping regulations and company policies.
• Problem-Solving: Resolve shipment delays, discrepancies, or other operational issues effectively.
• Tracking: Utilize tracking systems to monitor shipments and maintain accurate records.
Requirements
• Proven experience in airfreight operations or a similar logistics role.
• Strong understanding of air cargo processes, documentation, and regulations.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in freight management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
• Knowledge of international shipping regulations, including IATA standards.
